Learning to Lead
Course Overview
This two day workshop is designed for the more experienced manager. It considers the basics of leadership and how this differs to management. You will explore the need to balance leadership and management to get the most out of your team and how you can best adapt your style to meet the needs of individuals.
Your role is key in the management of an individual's behaviour; during this workshop you will learn what drives behaviours and so have a greater insight into how you can manage them appropriately.
Course Objectives
By the end of this workshop you will;
- Be able to identify key leadership traits, behaviours and styles
- Have examined the differences between leadership and management and be able to define what a leader is trying to achieve
- Be able to explain the characteristics of successful teams and have identified the gaps in your owns' performance
- Have explored when and how you need to demonstrate a flexible style of leadership
- Understand how to manage behaviours in the workplace
- Know when to adopt a coaching approach
- Have a range of tools and techniques to use when holding difficult conversations
